December first firing

Well folks, we just finished another firing, and are happy with the results. The brown glazes and the periwinkle blue are new glazes that we make ourselves.

September 16, 2016 Firing!

We are completely thrilled with the latest!

Hope to see you at Milmont’s Customer Appreciation Day on Sept. 24.

Not shipping for now

I’m in the pottery room, soaking up the heat from the propane burner, watching Alison throw pots, and she just produced a very beautiful vase. Our three boys are out in the basement riding their trikes. And our fourth child, a girl, is on the way. She’s due to appear in April. We can’t wait!

We will not be shipping pottery for the next while. If you want to buy something, stop by! Our cabin is well-stocked.

Last Firing of 2015 Just Finished

Folks, we have the last firing of 2015, just finished on the weekend, now out on the shelves.

We are well stocked…

The pottery cabin is full!

We have a new red glaze and several new designs. Come see us and check it out.

Below is Alison unloading the kiln, with Elijah, William, and Mathias there to celebrate.

We were set up at Milmont on  Friday and Saturday, along with other local vendors. Great donuts, and we were happy with our sales.

And we have a new sign! Now you can find us. Unfortunately, we still don’t have a walkway to the cabin, so beware if the grass is wet. Sun, please come back!

No more online sales for now

We’re still making pottery, but we’ve decided to stop shipping orders. It is simply too much work to keep the website going. We’ve leaving photos online to give you sample pictures of our work. If you want to buy something, just stop by.  The shop is open Monday through Saturday.

The next public event will be Milmont Greenhouses Customer Appreciation Day on September 26. Hope to see you there.

June Firing and Updated Checkout!

Our last firing has recently cooled and is in stock on our shelves and website. We’re pleased to offer a new checkout option here on the site. You’ll find it much easier to order than before when you had to had to send an email and describe the item.

We had a great first day at the Waynesboro Farmer’s Market today. Hope to see you there in two weeks, on June 11.

Many items sold

Many of our items pictured in the last post have been  sold, and we’ve finished another firing since then as well. Hope to get some new pictures up soon. Alison is also excited about getting the store moved back out to the little cabin, now that things are warming up.

Waiting, Wondering.

The new kiln is up and going. It is more than double the size of our old one and filled to the top. Being a new kiln there is a question of all my work being a success or failure. In a day or two there will be a post showing product to buy or no post at all. A firing takes about 24 hours. Patience is a required virtue of all potters!

Production….

I came home from school today to find a nice bunch of fresh pots. Alison is getting better all the time! Hopefully we’ll have some fresh wares in time for your Christmas shopping.

Another firing finished!

Still Warm… pots just removed from kiln.

Here’s Alison’s latest.

Instead of posting these on the individual pages, we’re simply listing them here, and if you want anything, email us at whp@whitehillpottery.com.
